개요
임베디드 기기 전용 윈도우. 원래 이름은 Windows CE였다가 Windows Embedded Compact로 개명되었다.
주로 전자사전, 네비게이션(사제, 차량 제조사별 순정 상관없음), 산업용 PDA, PMP, MP3에 많이 탑재되었지만 이마저도 안드로이드 기반으로 갈아타는 추세다.
현재는 신버전이 안 나오고 Windows 10 IoT Core가 포지션을 잇고 있다.
