유치원때 보고 공포에 떨었던 영화
조니 뎁이 윌리 웡카의 역을 맡았으며 원작 초월이다. 장르는 공포영화다.
34년만에 리메이크된 영화답게 그래픽이나 연출 방면에서 존나 발전했고 중간마다 나오는 뮤지컬 음악이 귀뽕 오진다.
특히 영화 도입부 초콜릿 제조과정과 영화 초반의 초콜릿 동산과 폭포는 카타르시스를 느끼게 해준다.
1971년작과 동일하게 찰리 할아버지 역을 맡은 배우는 죽었으며 윌리 웡카대신 윌리 웡카의 아버지역을 맡은 배우가 죽었다. 대신 윌리 웡카역 맡은 본인 자체도 불행한 삶을 살고 있다ㅠㅠ
